I wrote back: On the other hand, it’s only been five days. I wouldn’t worry; she’s purring and asking for rubs!  Keep giving her reasons to relax and she will.

She continues: The female, however, has been hiding in the cat tree since I got them (about 5 days at this point).  She is letting us pet her and purring, and she lets us rub her tummy, but she will not come out, and seems absolutely terrified if we pick her up.
